Why is this Summit So Important?

In 2025, reported sexual assault cases in northern New Mexico increased nearly 17.74%

over the previous year.

Sexual violence and child abuse leave survivors and their families facing long-term trauma, destabilizing the well-being of our entire community. This November, Solace Sexual Assault Services is partnering with the City of Santa Fe; First Judicial District Attorney’s Office; Santa Fe Police Department; Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program; Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office; and New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs to host Voices for Change: Standing Against Sexual Violence. The goal of this vital symposium is to turn shared knowledge into coordinated action—strengthening our community’s response, supporting survivors, and advancing justice by holding perpetrators accountable.

Together, we can ensure that safety, healing, and justice are more than ideals, they can become realities for every survivor of sexual assault and child abuse in our community.

2026 Voices for Change Agenda

Continuing Education Hours Approved!

We are excited to announce that 7.25 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hours have been officially approved by the National Association of Social Workers – New Mexico (NASW-NM) for the 2026 Voices for Change: Standing Against Sexual Violence Summit on November 19, 2026!

Attendees will have the opportunity to earn Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hours through engaging presentations and panel discussions focused on sexual violence prevention, survivor support, cultural considerations, and collaborative approaches to advancing justice.

Approved Sessions Include:

Bridging the Divide: Law Enforcement, Survivors, and the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Investigation – 1 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hour
Successful Outcomes: A Case Study in Corroborating Victim Accounts – 1 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hour
How Jurisdictional Complexities Have an Impact on Violence in Indigenous Communities – 1 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hour
Cultural Considerations (Panel Discussion) – 1 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hour
Initiating Change Panel Discussion – 1 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hour
The Common Thread – 0.75 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hours
Unstranger Danger – 1.5 Social Work/Cultural Continuing Education Hours

Please Note: Professionals seeking continuing education hours should verify acceptance and licensing requirements with their respective professional licensing boards.

Reimbursement Scholarships Available

The New Mexico Children's Alliance is offering a limited number of

scholarships to attend the VFC: Summit!

If you are CAC staff, and would like to attend but cannot afford the costs (Registration fee, *hotel costs, and mileage), you may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact events@constellationnm.com at your earliest convenience to inquire about available scholarships.

The deadline to apply will be announced on Oct. 10.
