Volunteer Opportunities 

Hotline Advocate Volunteer

​

Support survivors when they need it most. As a Hotline Volunteer Advocate, you’ll provide after-hours and weekend crisis response—by phone, at Solace, or working with law enforcement. You’ll help victims of sexual assault and abuse navigate resources, receive immediate support, and take the first steps toward healing.

​

In short: Volunteering on Solace’s after-hours crisis line means being a compassionate first responder, ensuring survivors are not alone in their most critical moments.

​

Here’s a concise summary of what volunteering on Solace’s after-hours crisis line involves:

  • Shifts are one weeklong shift, starting Monday at 5pm and ending Monday at 8am the following week.

  • Volunteers are “on call” overnight during weekdays and all weekend.

  • Must have reliable cell phone service and transportation.

  • Ability to document calls using a call sheet.

  • You may be asked to:

    • Advocate during weekend forensic interviews.

    • Support Sexual Assault Nurse Exams after hours at Solace.

  • Must Complete:

    • CYFD (Children, Youth & Family Dept.) background check and fingerprinting (paid upfront and reimbursed after 1st shift)

    • Once background check is cleared you may submit a volunteer application and resume.

    • Reading the volunteer manual.

    • Completing a 40-hour online Victim Assistance Training

    • Participating in one-on-one training and monthly meetings.​

 

Administrative Volunteer

​

As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you’ll assist during business hours with the daily operations of the agency—welcoming visitors, answering phones, preparing materials, filing, data entry, and supporting staff with essential tasks. Your contribution ensures that our team can focus on providing critical services to survivors and their families.

  • Must Complete:

    • A full background check and fingerprinting (paid upfront and reimbursed)

    • Once background check is cleared you may submit a volunteer application and resume.

    • Reading the volunteer manual.

    • Completing a 40-hour online Victim Assistance Training

Fundraising/Events Volunteer

​

Love events? Enjoy helping set up or decorating for parties and special events? We need your help! As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll support Solace’s signature events including fundraisers and donor appreciation events—from preparation and setup to helping events run smoothly. Your time and energy help us raise vital funds so survivors can continue to access life-changing services.

Both Administrative and Fundraising Volunteer must complete the following:​​

  • Must Complete:

    • A full background check and fingerprinting (Paid upfront and reimbursed)

    • Once background check is cleared you may submit a volunteer application and resume.

    • Reading the volunteer manual.

    • Completing a 40-hour online Victim Assistance Training-TBA
