The use of technology in teen dating violence is significant. One in four teens in a relationship (25%) say they have been called names, harassed, or put down by their partner through cell phones [and] texting. Additionally, 19% of teens in dating relationships say their partner has used a cellular device or the Internet to spread rumors about them.

The ultimate goal of Solace Crisis Treatment Center’s Education & Prevention Department is to engage in acts of cultural change through sexual violence prevention programming that is centered in the lived experience of our varied communities. For the next 61 Days, you are invited to join Solace is saying NO to behaviors that invoke violence, by taking an active role in implementing change in our community.
61 Ways In 61 Days To A Season of Anti-Violence is an awareness campaign designed to utilize messaging, grassroots outreach, media relations and government affairs to promote the change that we want to see in our community.
For 61 Days, we will focus on the “It Starts With Us” model to create;
1). Prevention Messaging,
2). Media Releases & Announcements and
3). Letter Writing Campaigns – as tools for change.
However, we will need your help. We ask that you participate by utilizing the campaign’s tools for change – which includes sharing each daily message with your social media contacts and participating in the letter writing campaigns - to your local newspapers, radio stations and your local politicians.
